The FAO and OIE should focus more on pollutants (EDCs, pesticides, antimicrobial glyphosate present in aquafeeds) and viruses in food, to protect the poor people in emerging pandemics. The health certificates for shrimp international trade regulations by OIE should be signed by veterinarians with expertise in zoonosis.

The report predicts that seafood will see lasting impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic.
